This full-time position involves overnight work in an inpatient setting, specifically for Central Order Verification. The role requires approving medication orders, compounding, preparing, and dispensing medications in compliance with state and federal laws. The pharmacist will also supervise pharmacy technicians, resolve medication order issues, maintain patient profiles using information systems, and participate in quality assurance processes. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team to optimize medication use, monitor patient progress, recommend therapy adjustments, and educate staff and patients. The pharmacist is expected to proactively identify and resolve patient care problems, potentially contributing to policy revisions, and perform charge pharmacist duties when scheduled, including resource coordination and conflict resolution.
