About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join their Caleb Brett team in St. Louis, MO. This role involves performing volume measurements, temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting to ensure accurate assessments of commodity quantity and quality. The position requires travel of at least 75% of the time and offers an opportunity for career growth within the Inspection and Testing business. Requirements

  • Basic grasp of basic mathematics.
  • Ability to work in an automated environment.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis.
  • Cannot have a fear of heights.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate – up to 75% of the time.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, and driving.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience performing petroleum inspections.
  • IFIA certified.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
  • Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in various containers (lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, ships).
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment and containers (lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, ships).
  • Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities.
  • Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks.
  • Verify and communicate results, making entries into appropriate media (print or electronic).
  • Provide on-the-job assistance and receive training from experienced inspectors.
  • Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel.
  • Monitor and report the need for necessary supplies.
  • Organize and coordinate jobs to ensure timely service delivery and report/sample submission.
  • Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
  • Model Intertek’s 10X Energies and practice business the right way.
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies.
