About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join its Caleb Brett team in St. Rose, Louisiana. Caleb Brett provides cargo inspection and analytical assessment services for oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets. The inspector performs volume and temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting to provide customers with an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of material quantity and quality. The position travels at least 75% of the time and works 12-hour rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Requirements

Basic grasp of mathematics and ability to work in an industrial environment.
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
Must have or have applied for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
High school diploma or GED.
Awareness of and adherence to safety practices and policies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and organize workload and manage time efficiently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively verbally, in writing, and in presentations.
Customer-focused and quality-driven.
Ability to travel as business needs dictate; the position travels at least 75% of the time.
No fear of heights and ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to lift, walk, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, squat, and drive.

Nice To Haves

Refinery and industrial work-site experience.
Familiarity with API standards.

Responsibilities

Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
Sample, gauge, and inventory shore tanks, barges, and tankers.
Perform routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
Organize and coordinate jobs so services are rendered and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
Maintain work areas and keep gauging and sampling equipment clean, organized, and functional.
Verify and communicate results and enter them into appropriate print or electronic media to ensure information validity and traceability.
