About The Position

Intertek Caleb Brett is seeking a Petroleum Inspector in St. Rose, Louisiana. The role performs volume and temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting to provide customers with an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of material quantity and quality. The position travels at least 75% of the time and works 12-hour rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule. The inspector works with cargo inspection and analytical assessment services for the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets.

Requirements

Have a basic grasp of mathematics and be able to work in an industrial environment.
Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
Have or have applied for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Be aware of and adhere to safety practices and policies to protect yourself and others at work.
Be able to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
Be detail-oriented and able to prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
Be able to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
Be customer-focused and quality-driven.
Be able to travel as business needs dictate.
Not have a fear of heights.
Be able to climb ladders and stairs.
Meet physical requirements including lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, and driving.

Refinery and industrial work site experience.
Familiarity with API standards.

Responsibilities

Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
Sample, gauge, and inventory shore tanks, barges, and tankers.
Perform routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
Organize and coordinate jobs so services are rendered and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
Maintain work areas and keep gauging and sampling equipment clean, organized, and functional.
Verify and communicate results and enter them into appropriate print or electronic media to ensure information validity and traceability.
