About The Position

The Petroleum Construction Specialist will specialize in tank-pad, forecourt and island repairs including grade-ring and spill container replacements, as well as the installation, maintenance and repair of pumping equipment. Experience with construction related equipment, towing trailers and road safety standards. The petroleum construction specialist will work with the Team Lead in planning, procurement and execution of site repairs and upgrades. This position will require some knowledge of petroleum construction and have an excellent standard of safety and work well within teams. The successful candidate will also be trained as a petroleum technician during down time and winter months when construction is not ideal. This is a full-time job with a well-established company throughout Manitoba and Canada. Requirements

  • Are very mechanically inclined, with an affinity for solving mechanical problems.
  • Experienced with concrete cutting, jackhammering, forming and finishing.
  • Can make wise judgments when working independently, with no direct supervision.
  • Valid drivers license and able to tow small dump trailer and compressor.
  • Are always looking for ways to do things better and more efficiently.
  • Are happy to learn and follow directions when needed.
  • Are organized, timely, and professional.
  • Have at least moderate computer skills.
  • Take pride in customer satisfaction.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Electrical experience (in petroleum or otherwise) or an understanding of electrical concepts and basic programming.

Nice To Haves

  • TSSA Petroleum Mechanic Certifications (PM1, PM2, PM3, or PMH)
  • Electrical experience (in petroleum or otherwise) or an understanding of electrical concepts and basic programming.
  • Experience with skid steer or mini-ex

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain petroleum equipment.
  • Repair or replace tank pad grade rings, spill containers and finish concrete/asphalt.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with pressure, suction, and siphon piping systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspection services on retail fuel equipment.
  • Help maintain strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with our existing and new clients that will ensure repeat business and free flowing referrals and focuses on client relationships to grow and maintain core client base.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that the company health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Possess the physical and mental capabilities to work under stress and control multiple tasks at a time.
  • Scheduling involves being part of an on-call 24/7 rotation.
