About The Position

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director the Petro Pool Custodian at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts will create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while in the performance of cleaning and general maintenance activities. The Community Pool is open from June 22nd to August 16th. Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am-6:00pm and Saturday and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm (hours are subject to change with extra programming). Requirements

  • General knowledge of custodial/maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, follow a schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be 18 years old

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall maintenance and cleaning of the Petro Pool grounds; restrooms, changing areas, storage areas, lifeguard area, and the grounds around the facility.
  • Tasks include but are not limited to trash disposal, dispenser filling, toilet and sink cleaning, hosing down the deck, and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Follow safety regulations in accordance with the YMCA of Central MA, OSHA, and the Model Aquatic Health Code.
  • Report any problems, repairs or supplies to Aquatic Director.
  • Responsible for end-of-day closure, and next-day preparation.
  • Receives and carries out instructions
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times; wear clothing that meets the YMCA dress code.
  • Other duties as assigned.
