We can’t wait to meet you! The Nuclear Medicine Lead executes the Nuclear Medicine and PET operations at SimonMed Imaging centers in Florida. The responsibility of this position includes planning, organizing, directing, and scheduling the Nuclear Medicine and PET staff, along with ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, certifications, quality assurance, and safety. May perform the duties of a Nuclear Medicine/PET technologist as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Requires completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program in AMA approved school.
  • BLS Certification or “Hands–On” CPR certification
  • Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
  • Must be licensed with the State, when applicable by law.
  • 2 years of experience in radiology

Responsibilities

  • Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site reading physician.
  • Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the mobile coach/facility and during the exam.
  • Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
  • Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols.
  • Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.
  • Provides images to the facility in the desired site format.
  • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems; places service calls and notifies all pertinent team members of issues.
  • Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility.
  • Completes necessary administrative tasks
  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.
  • Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety.
  • Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
