About The Position

TLC House & Pet Sitting Service is hiring reliable, responsible, experienced pet sitters in Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert. This flexible supplemental-work opportunity is for people who enjoy animals and can meet the local residency, transportation, service-window, and holiday requirements. Sitters must live within approximately five miles of the applicable service area and commit to working with TLC for at least one year. The role is a 1099 independent contractor position, with assignments and scheduling based on sitter availability and TLC’s needs. Monthly compensation is approximately $200–$2,000 or more, depending on availability and assignments; holiday pay and client gratuities are also offered. Sitters provide visits, walks, animal care, and potentially overnight sitting. Visits may last 15–60 minutes, and sitters may have multiple client visits within a service window. Morning availability (6:00–9:00 AM) or evening availability (5:00–8:00 PM) is required. Midday (11:00 AM–2:00 PM) and overnight (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) availability are not required but are significant advantages. Availability during major holidays, including July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, is required. Sitters work independently while receiving support from the TLC office and other sitters in their area.

Requirements

Live within approximately five miles of the relevant service area; the posting identifies Tempe 85284, Chandler 85226 and 85248, and Gilbert 85298 in its minimum-requirements section.
Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
Be available for at least one primary service window: morning (6:00 AM–9:00 AM) or evening (5:00 PM–8:00 PM).
Be willing and available to work at least part of the day when assignments are scheduled on major holidays, including July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
Speak, read, and write English fluently.
Own a smartphone with a working camera and cell service.
Communicate daily with clients through the pet-sitting software, including sending photos and detailed journal notes.
Be able to climb stairs, bend, and walk comfortably.
Commit to working with TLC for at least one year.
Be dependable, responsible, able to work independently, comfortable following detailed instructions, and able to communicate well.
Take responsibility for the care of pets and clients’ homes seriously.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of paid or volunteer animal-care experience is preferred.
Availability for midday service (11:00 AM–2:00 PM).
Availability for overnight service (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).

Responsibilities

Provide daily and vacation pet visits.
Walk and exercise dogs.
Care for cats and other small animals.
Provide overnight pet sitting when assigned.
Feed pets and provide fresh water.
Administer medications as instructed.
Follow detailed pet-care instructions.
Provide playtime, companionship, and affection.
Clean up after pets and perform minor pet-related housekeeping.
Send clients photos and updates, including detailed journal notes through the pet-sitting software.
Report concerns or emergencies to TLC.
Maintain the safety and security of clients’ homes.
Follow TLC policies and protect client confidentiality.
