About The Position

Pets Are Family Pet Sitting Services LLC is seeking compassionate adults who are passionate about working with animals and want to work in a collaborative environment. We are looking for individuals with previous experience in pet care, particularly dog walking and cat care. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of canine and feline body language and be interested in working with reactive or behaviorally challenged dogs and cats. This role involves providing reliable, timely, and loving care to a variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, pocket pets, and reptiles. We value relationships and hospitality in our work and aim to support pet parents while they are at work or traveling. This is a part-time, W-2 employee position.

Requirements

Love working with animals and are passionate about their welfare
Love both cats and dogs
Comfortable feeding, walking, and playing with pets according to their individual needs
Able to monitor the behavior and health of the pets and report any concerns to the supervisor
Able to make a 6-month commitment to working for the company
Consistent availability and available to work at least 2 weekends a month
Able to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
Strong communication skills (both orally and in writing)
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to our pets' guardians
Reliable car and live in or very close (within 5 miles) to the community where you will work
Reliable smartphone that can support company's software and takes clear photos
Pass a criminal / vehicle background check
At least 18 years of age
High school graduate

Nice To Haves

Previous experience using Time to Pet
Fear Free certification
Experience walking dogs and care for cats professionally
Understanding of canine and feline body language
Interested in working with dogs & cats that are reactive or may behavioral challenges
Large dog handling: 1 year
Cat care experience

Responsibilities

Caring for cats and dogs (and other types of animals too!)
Walking dogs and caring for cats professionally
Feeding, walking, and playing with pets according to their individual needs
Monitoring the behavior and health of pets and reporting any concerns to the supervisor
Documenting daily activities and reporting any unusual behavior or incidents to both the company and the pets' guardians
Providing exceptional customer service to pet guardians by promptly addressing any questions or concerns
