About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a seasonal Pet Playtime Coordinator to organize and manage daytime play groups at its Jacksonville Airport resort location. The role involves interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, while using appropriate toys, tools, and handling techniques to maintain safe, controlled play. Coordinators keep dogs under visual observation, distribute attention across the group, reduce stress, and respond to aggressive or unusual behavior. They also assist with cleaning and play-yard maintenance.

This position requires working in all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and exposure to pool water. The role may involve handling dogs of all sizes and lifting up to 60 pounds, as well as sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping. Scheduling needs may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after hire and an additional $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date. Pet Paradise describes opportunities to apply for company training academies and advancement into leadership, dog training, or grooming roles.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

• Comfort working around dogs of all sizes and physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage daytime dog play groups.
• Interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, using appropriate toys and tools to support safe play.
• Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in the playgroup.
• Minimize stress among dogs in the playgroup and handle aggressive or unusual behaviors.
• Control play levels by following management procedures and instructions and using proper dog-handling techniques.
• Assist the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties.
