About The Position
Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a pet-loving Pet Nail Tech to provide friendly, knowledgeable service to neighbors and their pets. The role provides quick pet services, including paw packages, nail trims and filing, ear cleaning, nail polish, and paw wax application. Team members attend free, paid training through the Paragon School of Pet Grooming’s Nail & Ear Tech program. The position may also include dog-wash duties, retail and checkout tasks, stocking, delivery unloading, and caring for animals in the store. Nail Techs support one another as backup when extra help is needed. The position can be physically demanding, involving lifting 40–65 pounds and standing for long periods. The company supports learning through its interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Nail Techs earn their hourly rate plus 30% commission on each service they perform.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass a drug screening and background screening.
- Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift 40–65 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Knowledge of animals and pet products to provide customer service is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform pet services such as paw packages, nail trims and filing, ear cleaning, nail polish, and paw wax application.
- Attend free, paid training through the Paragon School of Pet Grooming Nail & Ear Tech program.
- Recommend appropriate shampoo and answer neighbors’ questions about animal care.
- Help customers review and compare pet food ingredients.
- Polish cats’ nails.
- Stock shelves and process purchases accurately and efficiently.
- Feed animals and clean their cages or habitats; handle animals as needed.
- Perform dog-wash attendant duties, including operating and supervising use of the bathing system and assisting when appropriate.
- Restock supplies, complete laundry tasks, clean dryer filters and hair traps, and keep floors clean and dry.
- Provide information about Preferred Pet Club membership and offers.
- Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment.
- Help carry purchases to neighbors’ cars.
- Provide backup support to other team members when extra help is needed.
