About The Position
Animal Clinic East is seeking an experienced Pet Groomer to join their veterinary support team. This is a full-service practice offering professional grooming services alongside comprehensive medical care. The hospital has a dedicated, state-of-the-art grooming facility where groomers can manage their services, build client relationships, and collaborate with a supportive veterinary team. This role is ideal for a skilled and motivated groomer who prefers independent work within a collaborative hospital setting.
Requirements
- Professional pet grooming experience working with a variety of dog breeds and coat types
- Knowledge of breed-specific grooming standards
- Ability to safely handle pets of varying sizes and temperaments
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Portfolio and references required
Nice To Haves
- Grooming certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bathing, drying, haircuts/styling, brush-outs, nail trims, de-matting, ear cleaning, and gland expression
- Evaluate each pet’s coat and skin condition and communicate grooming recommendations to pet owners
- Engage with clients to understand grooming preferences and expectations
- Safely handle pets of various sizes and temperaments during grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area throughout the day and at the end of each shift
