About The Position

Akumin is hiring a part-time PET/CT Technologist for its Arizona facilities. The role uses communication skills and a caring attitude to explain procedures, reassure patients, and support their comfort, safety, and satisfaction. Technologists interpret physician orders and instructions, select appropriate software options and imaging parameters, and produce high-quality PET/CT images to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Work may take place in a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based or inpatient facility, and the role requires the flexibility to work at several locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N).
• State license.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, including screening for contraindications and using aseptic injection techniques.
• Follow radiation safety requirements and regulations, and properly document and use appropriate techniques when working with radioactive materials and patients.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or PC's.
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment, including monitors, PACS, and coils.
• Explain procedures to patients and help put them at ease.
