About The Position

Sentara is hiring for a PET/CT tech! This role conducts PET/CT imaging of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology. The technologist will be competent in preparation, dose management and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, radioisotopes, IV and oral CT contrast, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment, provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory. They will explain the examination procedure and discharge instructions to the patient and complete departmental documentation. This role also requires compliance with all radioactive activity monitoring and documentation, and performing to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. IV competency is required.

Requirements

  • ALD Radiologic Sciences or Trade school certificate
  • ARRT (CT) required
  • CT registry obtained within 2 years of hire
  • IV competency required.
