About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a Pet Bather to support its grooming department and provide safe, attentive care to pets. The role includes bathing pets before scheduled grooming appointments and providing requested go-home baths. Depending on training, the Pet Bather may also perform nail trims, brush teeth, and clean ears. The position involves securing and reassuring pets, maintaining clean bathing stations and tools, and promptly seeking assistance if a pet shows unusual stress. Other duties may be assigned. Candidates should be comfortable handling a variety of animals and able to calmly bathe pets that are scared or hesitant. The work can require physical strength, mobility, and stamina to move heavy pets or objects. Schedule flexibility is needed to accommodate days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after hire and another $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date. Requirements

Ability to handle a variety of animals safely and comfortably; prior animal-handling experience is highly preferred.
Physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift or move heavy pets or objects from time to time.
Ability to calmly handle and bathe pets that may be scared or hesitant.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to accommodate schedule needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Nice To Haves

Prior animal-handling experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the grooming department by bathing pets before scheduled grooms.
Provide go-home baths as requested by clients or management.
When trained, perform nail trims, brush teeth, and clean ears safely.
Secure and reassure pets to support their safety and comfort.
Keep bathing stations clean and tools cleaned and ready for the next use.
Ask for assistance immediately if a pet demonstrates unusual stress.
Perform other duties as assigned.
