About The Position

Our grooming departments have given us the opportunity to "beautify" some of Richmond's most fashionable pets for over 50 years! Our grooming departments bathe and de-matt, provide anti-shedding treatments, anal gland expressions, pedicures and teeth brushing, along with a variety of other "spa" services. This workplace is moderately and physically demanding. The workplace is typified as a loud working environment - barking dogs, high-pressure dryers, etc.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work a flexible workweek, including major holidays, Mondays, and weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
• Ability to bathe, dry, de-matt, and finish pets in a professional manner
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, with frequent walking
• Ability to lift larger dogs
• Dependability
• Enthusiasm
• Ability to lift and push up to 50lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stretch
• Ability to move pets within the facility, vehicles, up and down stairs, and in and out of enclosures

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from a certified grooming school
• Previous training in pet grooming

Responsibilities

• Bathe and de-matt pets
• Provide anti-shedding treatments
• Perform anal gland expressions
• Give pedicures
• Perform teeth brushing
• Provide a variety of other "spa" services
• Help pack members in other areas of the facility when needed
