As a Pest Control Technician, here’s what you can expect You won’t be tied to a desk. You’ll be out and about — mobile, independent, and growing your career with a clear view of next steps. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present information in both internal and external settings.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
  • Ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
  • Ability to maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (with company support and funding).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 11–20 lbs. frequently (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects).
  • Ability to regularly sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Ability to maintain balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to keep vehicle and all other equipment clean.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented activities at distances close to the eyes or within arm’s reach.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Comfort working inside and outside in local climate conditions.
  • Comfort working around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
  • Comfort working around animals and insects.
  • Comfort working in tight, confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Ability to meet state and federal regulations and company safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Schedule and confirm customer appointments.
  • Assist with sales to current customers.
  • Expand product offerings to new customers.
  • Become an expert in applying company products safely and effectively.
  • Operate and maintain a company-provided truck and phone.
  • Perform detail-oriented activities.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as an OSHA-compliant respirator.
  • Work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Work both inside and outside in local climate conditions.
  • Handle mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals safely.
  • Work around animals and insects.
  • Meet state and federal regulations and company safety requirements.
