This position is responsible for the prevention and elimination of pests in all areas.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Minimum of two (2) years as a pest control operator.
Georgia Department of Agriculture Commercial certifications in Right-of-Way Turf & Ornamental, Aquatics, and Mosquito Control.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience OR one (1) year of higher education (full-time college level).
One (1) year technical experience in the associated category to be certified by the State of Georgia Department of Agriculture.
A valid Georgia Driver’s license.
Ability to maintain military gate pass access is required.
Experience with pesticide exposure first aid procedures.
Employees are required to drive company owned vehicles on a Federal Installation.
Must be 21-years-old or older.
Knowledge of basic math and formulas to ensure accurate applications of pesticides.
Knowledge of appropriate equipment and tools.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
Skill in operation of hand and power tools.
Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.
Skill in public and interpersonal relations.
Skill in oral and written communications.
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.
Ability to write reports.
Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, fellow employees and customers.
Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 75 pounds.
The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather.
The work may require the use of protective devices, such as respirators, masks, goggles, and/or gloves.
Responsibilities
Sprays chemical solutions and sets mechanical traps to eliminate and prevent pests from buildings and surrounding areas.
Sprays chemical solutions and dust powders in rooms and work areas.
Places and removes poisonous paste or bait and mechanical traps where pests are present.
Ensures customers understand dangers and limitations when chemical materials are being used.
