About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS position located at Central Office in Tallahassee in the Retirement and Benefits Administration Department. The purpose of the Personnel Technician III is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources Administration Unit by managing retirement and benefits processes, assisting staff and managers, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient daily operations. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or it’s equivalent.
  • Must possess at least two (2) years of professional Human Resources/Personnel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily operations in the Human Resources Administration Unit, focusing on Retirement and Benefits.
  • Helps managers and staff with retirement and benefits activities, including explaining policies and procedures.
  • Manages electronic records, handles public records requests, and follows file retention schedules.
  • Uses computer systems like SharePoint, People First, and Microsoft Office to process retirement and benefits action.
  • Receives, processes, verifies, and maintains personnel related documents, related to retirement and benefits actions such as: final salary certifications for retirement, retirement invoices, vouchering for insurance, and requesting insurance refunds.

You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
