About The Position

Under the direction of the FM HR Services Manager, the incumbent supports all Human Resources activities for Financial Management including Recruitment, Classification, Compensation, Performance Evaluations, Leaves and other related HR functions. This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Requirements

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented human resources professional with experience supporting a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, classification, compensation, performance management, leave administration, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Skilled at coordinating recruitment activities from start to finish, including managing applicant tracking systems, maintaining recruitment documentation, coordinating search committees, conducting reference checks, facilitating candidate selection processes, and supporting onboarding and separation activities.
  • Adept at coordinating performance evaluation cycles, tracking leave programs such as FML, resolving payroll and personnel issues in collaboration with managers and Payroll, maintaining confidential HR files, and developing process documentation to support departmental operations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills when responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborative team member.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and two years of related experience required.

  • Prior CSU experience preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports all Human Resources activities in the areas of Recruitment, Classification, Compensation, Performance Evaluations, Leaves and other related HR functions.
  • Processes required paperwork and adheres to established guidelines.
  • Oversight of student recruitment and compensation processes.
  • Monitors time reporting, attendance, and payroll records.
  • Provides training and guidance to staff.
  • Maintains organizational charts and position management data.
  • Assists with position description development.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of personnel records.
  • Coordinates performance evaluation cycles.
  • Tracks leave programs such as FML.
  • Resolves payroll and personnel issues in collaboration with managers and Payroll.
  • Maintains confidential HR files.
  • Develops process documentation to support departmental operations.
  • Serves as a knowledgeable resource for managers and employees regarding university and departmental HR policies and procedures.
  • Provides oversight of student employment and compensation processes.
  • Reviews employment documentation for compliance and accuracy.
  • Serves as a liaison with campus partners.
  • Monitors student assistant budgets and time reporting.
  • Supports training initiatives.
  • Contributes to special HR projects.
  • Provides front-office support as needed.
  • Consistently demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
