About The Position

Precise Systems is seeking a Personnel/Administrative Assistant to support their Pascagoula, MS customer. This role involves monitoring crew arrivals, coordinating administrative discrepancies related to travel orders, supporting personnel management for building yard transfers, managing the ship's Plan of Action and Milestone Program, tracking and creating reports using MP&T and NSIPS, ensuring command screening is completed, coordinating with Pre-Com Detachments for transfer dates, assisting with travel claims and obtaining travel arrangements, handling command correspondence, maintaining logs, tracking POA&M progress, assisting with entitlement requests, typing and formatting correspondence, handling sensitive information privately, drafting professional emails, and assisting in other administrative areas within Admin, Personnel, Travel, and Security. The candidate must be able to organize tasks, work with competing priorities, possess strong MS Office skills, provide documentation electronically, and have effective written and oral communication skills. Judgment is required for problem-solving and making routine recommendations. Understanding of military terms and practices is beneficial but not required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum 2 years equivalent relevant work experience
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS)
  • Experience with Master Military Pay Account (MMPA)
  • Experience with Defense Travel System (DTS)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Strong computer skills in the MS Office suite of software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor crew arrival in accordance with the Crew Scheduling and Phasing Plan (CSPP).
  • Coordinate and resolve administrative discrepancies, including in route training associated with Permanent Change of Station (PCS) and Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel orders with the Bureau of Personnel (BUPERS) and other Navy units as required on behalf of ships force and PMS 339.
  • Support personnel management for personnel transferring into building yard.
  • Manage the ship’s Plan of Action and Milestone Program.
  • Utilizing MP&T and NSIPS, track and create the required reports.
  • Ensure command screening is completed by ship’s force before receiving an individual in NSIPS.
  • Coordinate with Pre-Com Detachment (NORVA OR SDIEGO) to ensure loss dates are entered into NSIPS at time of transfer.
  • Assist members in initiating travel claims for liquidation of PCS orders.
  • Obtain travel through SATO at PSD Gulfport for members departing on PCS orders.
  • Receive, review and distribute Command correspondence and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain correspondence and serial logs.
  • Track the progress of the POA&M for Commanding Officer and Executive Officer and assist with resolution for delinquent requirements.
  • Assist in routing entitlement requests through ship's chain of Command.
  • Typing and formatting command correspondence for routing and approval.
  • Handle details privately that are FOUO in nature.
  • Draft and compose emails professionally.
  • Assist in other administrative areas within our group of Admin, Personnel, Travel and Security and other duties when required.
  • Organize tasks and services and be able to work with competing priorities.
  • Provide the Ship's with programs, documentation and deliverables electronically during crew development through move-aboard.
  • Resolve various problems and make routine recommendations.
