About The Position

The Percy Hedley Foundation is seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join their experienced team at Hedley’s College Hub, West Lane Campus. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 16-25 with a diverse range of complex needs, including profound autism. The role involves planning, preparing, managing, and delivering high-quality, personalized learning programmes to prepare learners for adulthood. The successful candidate will be confident in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, flexible, highly organised, and understand the importance of structure, routine, and consistency for learners with complex needs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

• Experience of Planning, preparing, managing and delivering high quality learning to a group of young people aged 16-25 with a range of complex learning and physical disabilities.
• Experience of working with learners with profound autism.
• Confidence in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.
• Flexibility and highly organised, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a variety of learning styles and needs.
• Understanding the importance of structure, routine and consistency for learners with complex needs.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to be flexible in their approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, personalised learning programmes to prepare learners for adulthood.
• Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to promote engagement, well-being and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support learners in achieving their educational and life goals.
