We are seeking a charismatic, motivating, and knowledgeable part-time Personal Trainer to help our members achieve their fitness goals at the Gypsum Recreation Center. The ideal candidate will support each client’s individual needs by offering form correction and exercise modifications to ensure safety and promote growth. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Personal Trainer Certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization required.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers individualized, safe, and effective fitness and exercise programs based on participants’ goals, abilities, and fitness levels.
  • Provides instruction, guidance, motivation, and ongoing support to help participants improve their fitness and work toward personal health and wellness goals.
  • Develop and deliver individualized personal training programs based on participant goals, abilities, fitness levels, and needs.
  • Conduct appropriate fitness assessments and use results to establish goals, develop exercise programs, and monitor participant progress.
  • Instruct participants in proper exercise techniques, equipment use, movement patterns, and general fitness principles.
  • Observe and monitor participants throughout training sessions to promote proper technique, safety, and appropriate levels of physical activity.
  • Modify exercises and training programs as appropriate based on participant abilities, progress, and individual needs while remaining within the scope of the position.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with participants and provide encouragement, motivation, and constructive feedback.
  • Respond to participant questions and concerns and refer participants to appropriate resources or qualified professionals when needs fall outside the Personal Trainer’s scope of practice.
  • Coordinate with staff regarding training schedules, facility and fitness-space availability, equipment needs, and other operational considerations.
  • Maintain required participant records, forms, assessments, and other program documentation accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Set up, inspect, clean, sanitize, and properly store fitness equipment before and after training sessions as needed.
  • Identify and address program-specific risk management, equipment, facility safety, and cleanliness concerns and report issues according to established procedures.
  • Support the inclusion of participants of varying ages, abilities, backgrounds, and fitness levels by providing appropriate exercise options and modifications.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to injuries, accidents, medical emergencies, and other incidents in accordance with established emergency and reporting procedures.
  • Comply with applicable mandatory reporting requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
