About The Position

SE Health is currently hiring Full-time Personal Support Workers (PSW) for Community Care in the GTA. This position is part of the Toronto Refugee Hiring Event, featuring pre-arranged, in-person interviews. Applicants must be refugees, refugee claimants/asylum seekers, or forcibly displaced individuals who live in the Greater Toronto Area, are legally eligible to work in Canada, and meet the position’s qualifications. Requirements

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), RN or RPN Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed), Valid Developmental Support Worker Diploma, or Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse.
• A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required.
• Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus.
• Current vulnerable sector check (VSC).
• Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid.
• Availability to work days and every other weekend.
• Hand, arm and shoulder dexterity.
• Sensory ability.
• Lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds.
• Walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal support care to clients in the community.
• Travel between clients, utilizing a personal vehicle.
• Manage time effectively to meet client needs and personal/career development.
• Identify and implement improvements to work processes.
• Support research into Senior’s Health and Aging.
