Aspira Quinte Gardens Retirement Living is seeking a Personal Support Worker for a casual position. The role involves building lasting relationships with residents, understanding their stories, and cultivating happiness in their daily lives. The purpose is to serve seniors, ensuring they live fulfilling lives with comfort, dignity, and respect. Requirements

  • Completed a Personal Support Worker program from an accredited institution or are an Internationally Educated Nurse with a recognized nursing degree.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled in delivering safe, effective bedside care, including simple treatments and care procedures.
  • Communicate with tact and professionalism, building positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
  • Successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, person-centered support to residents in their daily activities, including eating, dressing, personal hygiene, and grooming, following each resident’s individualized care plan.
  • Help residents stay connected and engaged by assisting with communication tools and sensory aids such as glasses or hearing devices, ensuring they are used comfortably and consistently.
  • Promote safety and independence by ensuring residents always have easy access to mobility and assistive devices, including walkers, canes, and call bells.
  • Contribute to residents’ comfort and overall well-being by offering ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support, including oral and dental care.
  • Encourage residents to participate in programs offered by the Resident Engagement Team, whether individual or in groups.
