About The Position

At Qualicare Homecare, we believe in delivering exceptional care to clients while fostering a workplace where employees feel respected, valued, and supported. We’re looking for a compassionate, caring, and reliable individual for a part time position in Thornhill (Yonge st & Centre st). This role involves providing care for a male client with dementia who lives at home and has 24/7 care. The client is bedridden and completely dependent. A training shift with the current staff will be provided. The primary schedule is Fridays 8am-4pm, with the ability to pick up more shifts with other clients.

Requirements

Personal Support Worker Certificate
Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
Clear Police Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) or willingness to obtain one.
Negative TB test or chest X-ray.
Covid vaccinations.
Reliable internet access and a mobile phone.
Experience with Dementia
Ability to commit to Fridays 8am-4pm shift for a minimum of 6 months.

Responsibilities

Assist with full morning care routines (bathing is 2 person assist), transfers are also 2 person assist, feeding, toileting every 2-3 hours, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminder and assistance, take vital signs etc.
Manage meals with specialized instructions (use thickener with all fluids) etc.
Follow and update care plans as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation and charting.
