What you’ll be doing: Essential Functions: Companion/Sitter/Household Management Provide companionship and respite services for family. Provide mental stimulation for Dementia clients (do activities such as cognitive games, music, arts, sensory activities, reminiscence therapy). Perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms. Medication Services Assist with medication reminders that the client self-administers Meal Preparation Food Handler's Certificate - an Asset Able to cook meals tailored to client's diet choices Social Skills Energetic and outwardly positive person Capable of supervising physical and mental exercise routines

Requirements

  • Dementia Care experience is a requirement.
  • Ability to use an APP to enter clinical notes and login and logout.
  • Successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker certificate.
  • At least six months experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities).
  • Has a Police Vulnerable Sector Reference Check or willing to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
  • Ability to do light-cleaning and lifting (transferring clients, repositioning, and laundry).
