About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a casual vacancy in Stayner. This role involves helping clients with daily living activities, providing support, and maintaining communication with clients and nurses. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, has flexible scheduling availability, and possesses a valid driver's license. Female staff are requested for this position.

Requirements

PSW experience of over 2 years is required
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
2 Satisfactory professional references
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters

Nice To Haves

PSW certification from a public college/learning center OR additional NACC certification is preferred
Open availability is an asset

Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
Supporting client with any assigned exercises daily if required
Providing medication support and management
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
Maintaining open communication with client and nurses
Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
