About The Position
Home Care Assistance is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a casual position in the Barrie area. This role involves helping others and offers flexible scheduling with open availability being an asset. A female staff member is requested for this position. Requirements
- PSW experience of over 2 years is required
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
- 2 Satisfactory professional references
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
Nice To Haves
- PSW certification from a public college/learning center OR additional NACC certification is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
- Supporting client with any assigned exercises daily if required
- Providing medication support and management
- Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
- Maintaining open communication with client and nurses
- Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
- Responding to all emergency situations
- All other duties, as assigned
