About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered supports that allow individuals, including those with intellectual or developmental disabilities or complex medical needs, to live as independently as possible. This 24/7 live-in opportunity focuses on promoting independence, dignity, safety, and meaningful community inclusion. The Personal Support Assistant/Caregiver fosters a warm, family-like atmosphere, building trusting relationships and encouraging a sense of belonging while honoring individual choices and independence. This role involves collaboration with the program director and team members to develop, implement, and evaluate participant supports, and reporting any concerns to supervisors.

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid driver's license required (due to transporting persons served)
  • Candidates must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, personal care needs, meal preparation, household tasks, budgeting, shopping, and community participation.
  • Encourage positive choices, support personal goals, and advocate for each participant’s needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
  • Support healthcare needs, meal preparation, budgeting, shopping, and supervision as needed.
  • Communicate participant needs, goals, and concerns to the program director or lead staff.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to provide consistent, person-centered support.
