About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered supports that allow individuals, including those with intellectual or developmental disabilities or complex medical needs, to live as independently as possible. This 24/7 live-in opportunity focuses on supporting individuals in their daily lives, promoting independence, dignity, safety, and community inclusion. The role involves fostering a warm, family-like atmosphere, building trusting relationships, and encouraging a sense of belonging while respecting individual choices and independence. The Personal Support Assistant/Caregiver collaborates with the program director and team members to develop, implement, and evaluate participant supports, reporting any concerns to supervisors.

  • Valid driver's license required
  • Candidates must be comfortable driving to transport persons served as required
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal) for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, personal care needs, meal preparation, household tasks, budgeting, shopping, and community participation.
  • Encourage positive choices, support personal goals, and advocate for each participant’s needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
  • Support healthcare needs, meal preparation, budgeting, shopping, and supervision as needed.
  • Communicate participant needs, goals, and concerns to the program director or lead staff.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to provide consistent, person-centered support.
