The Personal Property Appraiser is responsible for valuing taxable business personal property, through established processes identified within the Colorado State Statutes, the Assessors Reference Library and office policy. The Personal Property Appraiser maintains personal property records and performs field appraisals and internal audits within Delta County as well as supporting protested valuations. The Appraiser performs all duties associated with mobile home and real property transfers, plats and processing other legal documents. The Personal Property Appraiser/Administrative Coordinator (Coordinator) is a lead administrative position. In addition to the duties described above, the Coordinator position trains and mentors new department clerk staff who’s duties include processing title conveyance documents, researching legal descriptions, processing plats and all departmental clerk responsibilities. The coordinator supports all personal property valuations through all levels of appeal, oversees the senior exemption program and processes applications for property tax exemptions for those properties located within Delta County. The Coordinator position is knowledgeable on the valuation of business personal property in the state of Colorado, including assessment calendar deadlines and state audit requirements. This position interacts both in person and in writing with the public, co-workers and all collaborators in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
