About The Position
Huff Insurance, a long‑standing family‑owned independent agency, is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Department Manager to lead our growing PL team. Requirements
- 5+ years of Personal Lines insurance experience
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Active P&C license (MD or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of PL coverage, underwriting, and carriers
- Experience with agency management systems (Applied Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support Personal Lines Account Managers and CSRs
- Oversee daily workflow, task distribution, and service standards
- Manage renewals, endorsements, remarketing, and escalated client issues
- Improve processes, implement automation, and ensure workflow consistency
- Drive retention goals (target 92–95%) and support cross‑selling initiatives
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality control across the department
- Collaborate with agency leadership on strategy, reporting, and staffing
