About The Position

Joye Law Firm is seeking a motivated and compassionate paralegal with a passion for justice to join their personal injury law firm. This role is vital to the team and focuses on pre-litigation case management.

Requirements

  • Three years as a personal injury paralegal or similar experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook, Lawbase Case Management software, and Worldox.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to talk.
  • Frequently required to sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms and hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Responsibilities

  • Providing exceptional client service by updating them on the status of their case through phone calls, text messaging, and emails.
  • Reviewing documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Keeping thorough documentation in the case management system.
  • Manage the retrieval and processing of medical records and bills.
  • Drafting documents at the direction of the attorney.
  • Providing professional assistance to the attorney assigned to the file.
