About The Position

Block LLP is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our growing Personal Injury Department. This role will provide essential administrative and case support to attorneys and legal staff throughout the lifecycle of personal injury matters. The ideal candidate has at least two years of direct experience working as a legal assistant in a personal injury law firm. They should be familiar with the fast-paced nature of a high-volume plaintiff-side practice and comfortable communicating with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in a case. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Burbank office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a legal assistant in personal injury law
  • Direct experience supporting plaintiff-side personal injury matters
  • Working knowledge of the personal injury case process and commonly used terminology
  • Experience requesting and organizing medical records and billing documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Strong follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Professional and compassionate approach to client communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other members of the legal team
  • Must be able to work full-time, on-site at our Burbank office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both pre-litigation and litigation matters
  • Experience preparing basic legal documents and correspondence
  • Familiarity with personal injury case management software
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and case support to personal injury attorneys and legal staff
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding case updates, appointments, and outstanding information
  • Request, follow up on, and organize medical records and billing statements
  • Prepare correspondence to clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with gathering documents and information needed to move cases forward
  • Track deadlines, appointments, and other important case-related dates
  • Schedule client meetings, depositions, medical appointments, and attorney appearances as needed
  • Assist with preparing and formatting legal documents, letters, and case-related materials
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure documents are saved to the appropriate case file
  • Update case information and activity in the firm’s case management system
  • Provide clients with attentive, compassionate, and professional service
  • Assist attorneys and the legal team with additional tasks as needed
