About The Position

The Personal Care Team Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the personal care program in accordance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. This role involves managing personal care staff, handling office duties, and driving marketing and growth for the assigned area. The Team Lead interprets and communicates policies, monitors staff practices, and participates in admission decisions and in-person admissions. Key responsibilities include managing visits with nurse assessments, recertifications, authorizations, billing, payroll, and Medicaid eligibility verification. The position also involves participating in weekly management meetings, scheduling and preparing monthly employee staff meetings for continuing education and team building, evaluating work performance, and ensuring quality care and client satisfaction. The Team Lead oversees schedules, communicates changes, and participates in recruitment, hiring, and termination processes, including new hire orientation. They also perform in-service education, promote teamwork, and may provide direct aide care as needed, treating all clients with dignity and respect. The role requires taking on aide responsibilities during staffing shortages and maintaining a professional appearance.

Requirements

  • High School education

  • Must possess leadership, supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be comfortable with face-to-face marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of the personal care program.
  • Managing personal care staff and office duties.
  • Marketing and growth of assigned area.
  • Interpreting and communicating policies and procedures to staff, and monitoring staff practices and implementation.
  • Participating in admission decisions and performing in-person admissions.
  • Managing visits with nurse assessments as well recertifications which includes authorizations, billing, payroll tasks and verification of Medicaid eligibility.
  • Participating in weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, policy changes, complaints and concerns and relays information to aides.
  • Scheduling and preparing monthly employee staff meetings to discuss any issues and provide continuing education and team building with the aides.
  • Evaluating work performance of all aide personnel and implements discipline according to operational policies.
  • Ensuring delivery of compassionate quality care and supervision of aides in maintaining optimal client satisfaction.
  • Overseeing schedules and communicates changes with patients and staff.
  • Participating in the recruitment, hiring and termination of staff which includes new hire orientation and onboarding follow up with HR.
  • Performing in-service education to ensure staff is competent in current knowledge and skills.
  • Promoting teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
  • Providing direct aide care as necessary.
  • Treating all clients with dignity and respect.
  • Taking on responsibility of an aide when there are staffing shortages.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Performing any/all other duties assigned by the Manager.
