Requirements

  • Per the state of operation requirements, Medication certification; QMAP-A/L, Med Tech, Med Aide, Nurse Delegation
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • High school or Equivalent (GED)
  • One (1) year experience in some level of elder care preferred
  • Proficient computer skills preferred
  • Strong self-management and organization skills
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to handle competing deadlines, flexible and adaptable (Open to change).
  • Ability to effectively handle difficult and sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Attend to residents' personal care needs with enthusiasm and help with ADLs whenever they need a hand—whether that's bathing, dressing, meal time, laundry, or other daily essentials. Pay attention to the details that matter (combed hair, tied shoes, fresh oral hygiene, etc.).
  • Anticipate and spot any resident care needs before they become issues—whether it's hygiene needs, broken eyeglasses, a skin rash, missing hearing aids, or supply shortages—and report your findings to your supervisor.
  • Keep the lines open with your supervisor and teammates to stay in the loop about resident issues and create a supportive care environment.
  • Keep a watchful eye on resident safety and well-being—you're their advocate and their peace of mind.
  • Report any suspicions of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resources as required by regulation.
  • Report any changes in resident status or health to your supervisor—big or small, we want to know.
  • Monitor and document resident conditions as directed—keeping accurate records is part of the care team magic.
  • Partner with residents on their prescribed daily medication routine in accordance with state law, making sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Alert the RN/LPN and/or supervisor if you have any questions or concerns about medication records or supplies.
  • Ensure timely documentation of any medication refusals or treatment concerns—accuracy is key.
  • Restock medication carts, drawers, and storage areas with supplies (gloves, sanitizer cups, etc.) to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Complete work orders to communicate necessary replacements or repairs—help keep our space in top shape.
  • Show up and shine at monthly staff meetings! Participate actively and contribute your insights on resident and departmental needs.
  • Take on other duties as assigned and roll with the flow.
  • Respond thoughtfully to family members' needs as appropriate—you're part of the extended care family.
