About The Position

Gail’s Homecare is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Personal Care Assistant to provide non-medical in-home care to an adult client in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The assistant will help with personal hygiene and domestic tasks according to the client’s needs and limitations, provide compassionate support, and document the client’s progress to help ensure overall well-being. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, with shifts listed as 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; PRN availability is also mentioned. The pay rate is $13 per hour, with weekly pay. Client tasks include preparing coffee and breakfast, serving meals with medications, making the client’s bed, cleaning the kitchen, taking out trash, cleaning dog pads and mopping the area with Fabuloso, assisting with requests and cooking, walking the dog when needed, and setting up a dinner tray with medications before leaving.

Requirements

CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of full-time professional experience in a healthcare setting.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Complete at least eight hours of personal-care-related training annually.
Ability to work under supervision and follow care plans accurately.
Experience in housekeeping or domestic work.
Physical ability to assist with lifting and transferring clients.
Ability to perform personal care and household tasks as needed.
Reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
Willingness to comply with legal and agency requirements.
Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
PCA certificate.
Current CPR card.
TB test results.
Social Security card.
Vaccination card.
Existing fingerprint-based background check.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of professional experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Experience in a home healthcare setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance in the client’s home according to the client’s requirements and limitations.
Assist with basic personal hygiene and domestic tasks as needed.
Provide compassionate care and document the client’s progress.
Prepare coffee and breakfast, and serve breakfast with medications.
Make the client’s bed, clean the kitchen, and take out the trash.
Clean the dog pads and mop the area with Fabuloso.
Serve lunch with medications.
Assist with requests and tasks the client needs help with, including helping in the kitchen when the client wants to cook.
Walk the dog when needed.
Set up the client’s dinner tray with medications before leaving.
Follow care plans accurately and work under supervision.
