About The Position

Duties include working one-to-one with a student with one or more of the following needs: autism/emotional/behavioral needs/intellectual disability/medical needs/physical needs/grooming and personal care needs/academic needs/organizational and impulsivity needs, in the classroom, specials, lunch and recess. Assist student with daily activities, both academic and social. If student toileting is required, additional $1.25 per hour will be added to base pay. Employment contingent upon personal care services being required for the student's individualized educational program. Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP. Training will be provided via CBSD.

Requirements

High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED equivalent required at time of hire (the minimum).
Must work as a team member.
Exercise good judgment.
Prioritize tasks.
Effectively communicate with both students and adults.
Be a positive role model for students.
Ability to work in a classroom environment for extended periods.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, climb stairs.
Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

Supporting the student with daily academic and social activities.
Utilizing crisis prevention techniques/strategies, including restraint as a last resort, if required by the student's IEP.
Providing personal care services as required by the student's individualized educational program.
