About The Position

- The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse’s assessment of the client’s needs. This position is also responsible for providing respite and private duty care, ensuring client comfort, dignity, and independence.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of in-home experience, either in private duty or in a facility setting
• Completion of 60-hour training or possession of a state-tested nursing license
• Ability to assist clients with personal hygiene in accordance with the client care plan, ensuring client independence and modesty
• Proficiency in giving partial or complete baths in various locations in an organized manner
• Capability to lift, transfer, and move clients safely
• Ability to lift 30 pounds using proper body mechanics
• Competence in using mature judgment in various situations

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan, including providing partial or complete baths in a variety of locations.
• Promote client independence and maintain client modesty during personal care activities.
• Provide homemaker services as required to support the client's daily living needs.
• Deliver respite care to provide relief to primary caregivers.
• Offer private duty care with a focus on personalized attention and support.
• Utilize proper body mechanics to lift, transfer, and move clients safely.
• Exercise mature judgment in all client interactions and care decisions.
