About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is seeking energetic, compassionate, and dependable Personal Care Assistants / Med Techs to join their evening team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, building relationships, and being part of a fun yet productive team. Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna is a senior living community focused on providing residents with dignity, choice, and personalized care. As a PCA/Med Tech, you will contribute to the evening routine, ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and at home, helping to fulfill Hillcrest's mission of inspiring people to live their best lives by providing hands-on care, supporting independence, and enhancing the resident's evening experience.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to safely assist residents with personal care, transfers, mobility, and daily needs.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.
  • Must be flexible and calm when responding to resident concerns or stressful situations.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced care environment.
  • Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must follow established medication, infection-control, safety, and resident-care procedures.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, personal care, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
  • No experience? We will train you.
  • For Med Tech responsibilities, an active Nebraska 40-hour Medication Aide certification is required.
  • Candidates without Medication Aide certification may still be considered for PCA opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living based on their individual plan of care.
  • Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other personal-care needs.
  • Administer medications according to established guidelines and resident preferences, if credentialed as a Med Tech.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and weights as scheduled or ordered.
  • Complete required documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Provide one-on-one support and companionship.
  • Assist with resident laundry and light housekeeping tasks.
  • Help residents get to and from activities and dining.
  • Support meal service and provide reminders as needed.
  • Communicate important updates to nurses and incoming or outgoing shifts.
  • Respect each resident’s choices, privacy, dignity, and independence.
  • Assist the team wherever needed to ensure the evening runs smoothly.
