This paraprofessional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule. The job goal is to support the professional staff in meeting the needs of the student to whom the Employee is assigned. The role involves working with the teacher as a team member in the educational and social development of the assigned student, assisting in developing and maintaining a positive environment, and acting as a positive social and emotional model for the student. The position requires performing instructional activities, monitoring results under the teacher's direction, and assisting with behavior management in accordance with established policies. Responsibilities also include performing CPR, First Aid, and child restraint techniques as needed, providing input to the teacher on student progress, and completing School-Based ACCESS Program (SBAP) logs if applicable. Maintaining confidentiality, assisting with personal care needs, and lifting/assisting with lifting special needs children are also key duties. The role includes performing clerical and housekeeping duties, fostering a positive working relationship with teachers, and working with internal and external staff. Coverage for recess and lunch, preparation of materials, and adherence to schedules and punctuality are expected. The position also requires adherence to federal, state, and local laws, attendance at in-services and meetings, and assuming other assigned responsibilities.
