About The Position

AmeriCare Plus is hiring Personal Care Aides to provide one-on-one personal care in clients’ homes. The role includes personal care and limited home-maintenance services under each client’s plan of care. Aides must follow applicable Medicaid and Virginia Department of Health regulations and company policies, complete client records, report clinical concerns, remain reachable by agency personnel, and attend required in-service training. Aides report to an Agency Manager, Agency Manager In-Training, Agency Coordinator, Staffing Coordinator, or designee. Personal Care Aides do not supervise other employees. Covered personal care services include bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting assistance, transfers and ambulation, eating or feeding assistance, assistance with self-administered medication, and supervision when specified in the plan of care. Home-maintenance services for the client include meal preparation, washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, changing the client’s linens, cleaning the client’s bedroom, bathroom, and primarily used rooms, listing needed supplies, and shopping for supplies when included in the plan of care. Accompanying clients using Medicaid or family transport requires LPN/RN pre-approval and inclusion in the plan of care. Agency personnel may not transport clients in a vehicle unless directed by an authorized agency representative. Certain additional services require a physician’s order, inclusion in the plan of care, and LPN/RN instruction: bladder-retraining activity instruction, range-of-motion exercises to maintain current range as trained by a physical therapist or LPN/RN, and routine wound care limited to applying dry dressings.
