About The Position

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking an experienced retail banking professional for a full-time Personal Banker position based in New London, New Hampshire. The role represents the Bank in a courteous and professional manner and delivers customer experiences consistent with the Bank’s sales and service standards. The position works 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Banking, retail, and/or customer service experience.
Self-motivation and demonstrated aptitude and desire for customer service and sales achievement.
Decision-making ability and well-developed interpersonal skills.
Active listening and verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt tone and techniques to the audience.
Ability to solve problems, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and multitask.
Honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

Process a complete range of transactions and customer services, identifying sales opportunities to deepen customer relationships, including consumer lending and advanced online banking services.
Open and maintain various types of accounts, resolve exceptions independently and promptly, and refer qualified opportunities to business partners across the Bank.
Build and maintain banking relationships with consumer and business customers.
Develop a community network by proactively engaging with customers and prospects at external networking and community events.
Conduct outbound calls to customers and prospects.
Handle escalated customer situations effectively and involve appropriate parties when needed.
Discuss consumer loans with customers, input applications, close loans, and resolve exceptions independently and promptly.
Contribute consistently toward branch goals for deposits, loans, referrals, and other categories.
