About The Position

The Member Relationship Officer will ensure members’ needs are achieved by conducting a thorough financial assessment and recommending the most appropriate products and services fulfilling the member’s immediate and future financial goals. They will assist in generating leads, building new and maintaining existing member relationships while providing a great member experience. This role involves business development, sales, and operational tasks within a credit union environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in the financial industry or related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial assessments to understand member needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Generate leads, build new relationships, and maintain existing member relationships.
  • Identify, recommend, and sell appropriate GTE Financial products and services.
  • Originate new members through various sources.
  • Work within a teamwork environment to develop retention strategies.
  • Generate referrals for credit union services including Investment, Insurance, Business Services, and Mortgages.
  • Manage salesfloor operations, greet members, and direct them to appropriate areas.
  • Analyze facts and educate members on appropriate products/services for one-point resolution.
  • Review and underwrite loan applications, demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Adhere to audit/compliance procedures and maintain the highest level of service.
  • Identify risk for credit union losses through observation of potentially fraudulent transactions.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with community partners (Select Employee Groups).
  • Conduct member financial transactions, including originating, processing, and closing consumer loan products.
  • Assist with mortgage applications by identifying the right product, initializing the process, gathering information, and establishing follow-up.
  • Observe Credit Union guidelines, policies, and procedures to adhere to compliance regulations and security standards.
  • Ensure completion of regulatory compliance and training specific to sales and service responsibilities.
  • Exhibit a desire for continuous education for personal growth and achievement.
  • Participate in meetings, conference calls, and events as assigned.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant Federal laws.
