About The Position

The Personal Banker is cross-trained in all aspects of retail banking to provide a strong customer experience and understand clients’ banking needs. The role supports branch operations, educates customers about products and services, and retains and deepens customer relationships by offering applicable value-added solutions. Responsibilities include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and taking and closing loan applications. The position is primarily based in an office or branch during standard business hours, with occasional travel to other branches or community events and moderate business travel. It involves daily extended use of banking software, secure digital platforms, and standard office equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Strong cash-handling abilities.
Knowledge of applicable government regulations, bank products, and banking operations.
Excellent communication and listening skills, commitment to quality service, and attention to detail.
Professional responses to customer questions and problems, dedication to customer service, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Nice To Haves

Prior banking or customer service experience.
Prior cash-handling experience.

Responsibilities

Educate new and existing customers about bank products and services, including their features and benefits.
Refer customers proactively to appropriate personnel and build, expand, and retain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Open consumer and commercial deposit accounts and identify opportunities to address customers’ financial needs.
Follow up with new accounts using the 2-2-2 process.
Conduct financial consultations and take applications for consumer loans, including home equity line of credit applications.
Process customer transactions, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, cashier’s checks, cash advances, property taxes, and wire transfers.
Balance the teller drawer daily.
Comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines, and report suspicious activity or clients to management and/or the Security Department.
Process and order checks and related customer products.
Assist with verifying currency shipments, processing drop-off and night-drop deposits, and balancing cash machines and the branch vault.
Participate in personal development activities, including online learning and internal or external training.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
