About The Position

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role aims to foster customer relationships, build loyalty, and increase sales to individual consumer clients. The position also supports small-business clients, develops referral opportunities, and delivers client service through in-person and phone interactions. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree/university degree or equivalent experience.

• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests under $250,000, recognize and refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small-business products.
• Build referral business opportunities through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Assist with strategies to grow the small-business client base and implement sales plans targeting Book of Business customers.
• Deliver client services and make outbound and inbound calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships by cross-selling relevant products and services while providing a remarkable client experience.
• Coach and guide Tellers and other branch staff on products and special programs, identifying client needs, and providing appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients’ transaction needs, educate them on service and digital channels, leverage available technology and marketing tools to uncover opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions; consider the firm’s reputation and safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets; comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; apply sound ethical judgment; and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
