About The Position

This role provides extensive personalized customer service to depositors with specific banking needs. The Personal Banker will offer advice on personal banking accounts, including suggestions for account resolution and other information to new and existing customers. Responsibilities include assisting potential customers in establishing new accounts, preparing loan documents, completing customer account files, and performing collection functions as needed. The position also involves serving as a backup for other roles and performing other assigned duties. Enhancing one's career through work experience and continuing education is encouraged. Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, participating in examinations, audits, and third-party reviews, and complying with the Information Security Program are essential. The role requires establishing a good image for the Bank by being active and visible in the community, attending meetings, and developing a working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services to provide quality customer service while building relationships and exceeding expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to three years of previous experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to outlying branch areas, as business needs dictate.
  • Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.
  • Regular customer service problem solving using established variables.
