About The Position

Lonestar MGA is a growing regional personal auto insurance carrier seeking an Underwriting Assistant / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills who are interested in developing a career in the insurance industry. No underwriting experience is required-we provide comprehensive training. This is an on-site position.

Requirements

Previous customer service experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Insurance or personal auto underwriting experience is a plus, but not required.
Property & Casualty (P&C) license is a plus.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service by providing timely and accurate responses to agents and policyholders.
Assist with quotes, endorsements, policy changes, and renewals.
Enter and process new business policies, endorsements, and renewal transactions.
Respond professionally to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
Develop knowledge of insurance coverages, underwriting guidelines, rating plans, and state-specific requirements.
Support underwriting operations through data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Help improve departmental workflows and procedures.
Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
