About The Position

We Offer: Part-Time or Full-Time schedules (minimum requirement of three (8) eight hour shifts per week) Different shifts to fit your needs: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am A minimum of 40 hours of paid training! ASCEND- Career Accelerator Program BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY (MEDICAL, VISION, AND DENTAL) AFTER 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT (1st day of the 1st pay period after 30 days) Responsibilities of the Personal Attendant include, but are not limited to: Assisting, instructing, and supporting our individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, bill pay, and grocery shopping. Accompanying our individuals on community outings, medical appointments, errands, and other activities, as directed Medication administration Assisting with hygiene care Assisting individuals with finding and taking public transportation One weekend shift per week is required Other activities, as assigned by the Program Coordinator Devereux is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders. What Do Personal Attendants Do at Devereux CA? Located throughout Santa Barbara County, Devereux’s California’s Supported Living Services (SLS) are designed to provide an alternative living arrangement for adults with special needs who prefer not to be housed in larger group home settings. Our services are flexible and provide focus and emphasis on matters related to the specific needs of each individual in their effort toward independent living.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Valid CDL and a good driving record is required
Must be able to pass thorough background checks & Livescan
Be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model.
Additionally, you must be able to complete 30 hours of new hire orientation training, and have a strong passion for working with and helping adults with special needs.

Responsibilities
